At Glow Atelier, we take pride in the quality, hygiene and professionalism of our products and services. This policy outlines the conditions under which exchanges, returns and refunds may be considered in accordance with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA). Due to the hygiene-sensitive nature of cosmetics, beauty products, jewellery and certain services, strict conditions apply.
This policy applies to:
By purchasing products or booking services through Glow Atelier, customers agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
Glow Atelier offers exchanges only for products found to have a verified manufacturing defect, subject to investigation.
A manufacturing defect refers to a fault that:
All claims are assessed on a case-by-case basis and may require clear photographic or video evidence, review of quality control and dispatch records, and inspection of the product where necessary.
If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, Glow Atelier may replace the same product, offer store credit, or approve an exchange where applicable.
For hygiene, safety and regulatory reasons, Glow Atelier does not offer refunds on cosmetic or hygiene-sensitive products once they have been opened, used, swatched, partially consumed, contaminated, or tampered with.
This includes but is not limited to: foundations, concealers, powders, lip products, eyeliners, mascaras, skincare products, makeup brushes, makeup sponges, lash products, and nail products.
Jewellery items sold under Miekeraai Jewellery may only qualify for exchange or review if the incorrect item was received, the item arrived damaged, or a verified manufacturing defect is identified.
Once opened or used, products cannot be resold. Accepting them back poses a hygiene and business risk, and refunds are not available under these circumstances.
Glow Atelier reserves the right to decline exchanges, returns or refunds where investigation shows that the product was opened or used, contaminated after delivery, mishandled or misused, tampered with or altered, or damaged after delivery.
Cosmetic products are classified as hygiene-sensitive goods, and customers are responsible for proper handling after delivery has taken place.
Glow Atelier cannot guarantee exact shade matches through online purchases. Customers are encouraged to make use of shade consultations, product recommendations, and assistance before purchase.
Refunds or exchanges will not be issued for incorrect shade selection, personal preference, texture preference, formula preference, or finish preference.
All orders are carefully packed and inspected prior to dispatch. Where applicable, photographic and/or video evidence may be recorded to confirm that products leave our facility in proper condition.
Damage caused during courier transit does not constitute a manufacturing defect, is attributed to courier handling, and may require investigation with the courier company. Courier-related damage does not automatically qualify for refunds or exchanges.
Any issue must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.
Customers may be required to provide:
Failure to report within the required timeframe or provide sufficient evidence may result in the claim being declined.
Glow Atelier reserves the right to refuse exchanges, returns or refunds where claims are found to be false or misleading, evidence is inconsistent with a manufacturing defect, products show signs of use, contamination or tampering, or abuse of the refund system is suspected. Any attempt to obtain refunds or exchanges through misrepresentation may be declined in accordance with the CPA.
All claims are subject to verification, evidence review, quality control assessment, and product inspection where necessary. The outcome of the investigation will determine whether an exchange, store credit or replacement is approved.
All decisions are final and made in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), hygiene regulations, and cosmetic product safety standards.
Certain bookings may require a non-refundable deposit or full upfront payment. Bookings are only confirmed once payment has been received.
Cancellation Policy: Clients may reschedule appointments with at least 24 hours' notice. Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in loss of deposit, cancellation fees, or refusal of future bookings.
Late Arrivals: Clients arriving late may receive shortened appointment times, need to reschedule, or forfeit their deposit depending on scheduling availability.
No-Shows: Clients who fail to arrive for appointments without notice may lose their deposit and be blocked from future bookings until outstanding balances are settled.
Glow Atelier is not responsible for allergic reactions, skin sensitivities, product incompatibilities, or makeup wear affected by skin type, weather or aftercare.
Clients are responsible for disclosing allergies, skin conditions, sensitivities, and medical conditions. Results may vary depending on skin type and aftercare.
Glow Atelier is not responsible for damage caused by improper aftercare, breakages after appointments, damage caused by external impact, or allergic reactions.
Clients are expected to follow all recommended aftercare instructions.
All laser and aesthetics treatments are subject to consultation approval, skin analysis, and signed consent forms. Glow Atelier does not guarantee permanent results or identical results for every client.
Clients must disclose pregnancy, medical conditions, medication use, skin sensitivities, and previous treatments. Failure to disclose relevant medical information may affect treatment safety and results.
Glow Atelier stocks and sells jewellery products under the Miekeraai Jewellery brand. Due to hygiene and handling considerations, jewellery items may not be returned or refunded once worn, damaged after delivery, altered, mishandled, or exposed to chemicals, perfumes or liquids.
Glow Atelier is not responsible for tarnishing caused by improper care, damage caused by perfumes, lotions, water or chemicals, broken items caused after delivery, or normal wear and tear.
If a jewellery item arrives damaged or incorrect, customers must report the issue within 24 hours of delivery with clear photographic evidence, order number, and packaging photos where applicable. Approved claims may qualify for exchange, store credit, or replacement where applicable.
All promotional items, discounted items, sale products and selected jewellery items are Final Sale.
No refunds or exchanges apply unless required under CPA regulations for verified defects.
Where applicable, Glow Atelier may issue store credit instead of cash refunds.
Store credit is non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and must be used within the validity period stated.
Glow Atelier reserves the right to refuse service, refuse refunds or exchanges, cancel suspicious orders, decline abusive behaviour, and cancel appointments where necessary — to protect the business, staff and clients.
This policy is governed in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (South Africa). Nothing in this policy removes any rights afforded to consumers under applicable South African law.
